Non-Stop Sugar Fest

Our Easter Day activities! Posted by Hello

So today was Easter Sunday and it turned out to be quite a beautiful day. We went to church, came home and rested for a little bit, and then went over to Grandma and Grandpa's house for the sugar fest. Yes, not good for my Weight Watchers. The boys loved hunting for Easter eggs. Myles was intrigued by the shiny plastic that sounded like a rattle. Asher also had fun hunting . . . so much so that he would not go to the bathroom. So, unfortunately, most of our Easter egg hunt photos have a picture of my son holding his crotch! Lovely, I know.
We did take a moment out to talk about Jesus and try to explain to the kids why we really do celebrate Easter. My friend told me about this activity where you fill the Easter eggs with little items (like rope, rocks, etc.) that symbolize a part of the Easter story. Asher loved hunting for the eggs and seemed to listen a little bit about the story of Jesus. I don't know how much he soaked in though because on the way home he asked us if the Easter Bunny had come to our house. Uggh. Oh well, he is only 5.
Sterling and I are getting our blood work done tomorrow morning for a life insurance policy. We are a little bit worried because the guy told us to eat healthy before the nurse came. Woops! After all of the candy, cake, and just plain sugar that we ate today, I don't know how our results are going to look. Hummm, we'll have to see.
