Yardwork . . . at last!

It was finally nice enough for the boys and me to go outside today. It was wonderful. I think that there is something therapeutic about weeding. Seriously, I love it. Of course, it was interrupted by Myles running off down the street! I had to keep getting up to corral him in. Asher and I made some interesting discoveries. We found a little baby bird egg on the ground. After examining it closely, we decided that it was okay to pick up and inspect. It felt like there was nothing in it so we took it into the house to further examine and discuss. Of course, Sterling, being the logical husband/father that he is, gave the egg a spin and told us that there was something in it . . . a dead chick. :( I told Asher that we should probably "bury" it.

Did the Easter Bunny come early?

Also in our findings was a rock that has "silver" in it. Asher was very fascinated by this. We decided that we better take a picture of it as well.

After about an hour or so of chasing Myles, I finally wised up and put him in the stroller so that I could finish my weeding. He sat there staring at me. I am convinced that he was silently planning his next escape route! It feels nice to have the flower beds weeded . . . now if I could just convince Sterling to take care of the lawn!

I love yardwork in the spring, too! Especially digging in the dirt in my garden. What a great idea about the stroller! I will have to try that with my toddler. You have a cute family (and belly). I have enjoyed browsing your blog.

I love those flowers... they on't do well here ;'''(. Love the stroller idea... I do a little gardening every time I pull in the driveway and leave Drew in his carseat with the door open. He doesn't seem to mind much, lol!

WEeding is very therapeutic. I am sad I don't get to do any gardening this year because we are moving right in the middle of spring :(

What fun discoveries...I love to go outside with my kids and find fun things to teach them. My kids are fascinated with plants...thanks to their father. I am sure your love of gardening will carry on to them through your fun finds.

I love working in the yard as well. I really haven't got at it much yet this year. I am sure though in the coming weeks and months I will be spending lots of time out there.
