Where to begin . . .?

Okay, so I have been neglecting my little blog these days. I have so much to catch up on but I am going to try to break it down into bite size chunks! LOL!

A big event for us was Asher's first Pinewood Derby for Cub Scouts. He was so proud of his car, which won the "Hottest Car" award. He worked pretty hard on it.

In the end, the car was still underweight so Sterling and Asher were trying to find a way to put some weight on it. I am SO GLAD that I walked in on that disaster before it was permanent!

Sterling was about to strap some "D" size batteries on the back of the car. I quickly came up with the idea of using 2 AA batteries, kind of like turbo boosters, if you will. The boys were all for that. They quickly went to get the glue gun when again, I had to halt their efforts.

Of course, everyone knows that you cannot JUST strap some plain ol' batteries on the car, they need to be decorated! So, Asher and I came up with a plan to roll the batteries in crepe paper and make it look like flames were actually coming out of the back.

In the end, I think that he was quite satisfied. :) As for me and Sterling, well of course, we were very proud of our little boy!

Great Job!!!

Your life is full, blog when you get a chance, but don't stress about it. Atleast that's what I try to tell myself.

The car looks nice. I think we saw it the night before and it did not look near that "Hot". Way to go Asher.

Ah Yes the Durby Cars! My handsome guy is 20 now and we saved all his cars from "Christian Boys Stockade". It brings back fond memories! :D
