Isn't she a beauty?! I was soooo excited when I found this antique ironing board today. Let me just tell you, I have wanted one for a few months now. I met a girl at a boutique that I did that had one of her own. She got it at a yard sale for . . . you are not going to believe this - $15!!! I begged her to sell it to me. I just HAD TO HAVE IT. She said "No". I told her that I would pay her $100!!!!! She still said "no". I was so bummed (well, and kind of relieved because I think that my husband would have killed me if I bought an old ironing board for $100!! I just wanted to see if she had a breaking point.)
So, when I saw this one, I jumped at the chance to buy it. I don't really have a great place for it because Sterling and I are sharing an office right now. BUT - someday when I have my own craft room . . . oh yes. Just wait and see! He he!
Speaking of crafting, I have really really missed doing things with my hands lately. I know that I have mentioned being tied up with the yearbooks that I am creating. I really enjoy doing graphic design . . . I just need get away from the computer sometimes!! LOL!
I thought that I might share a few of my little yearbook designs with you. I don't know, in the future, I might dabble in making some greeting/holiday cards. You know, when I finally get to open an Etsy store!
Anywho- I also received a WONDERFUL and thoughtful package from Beki in the mail last week. I feel so bad for not posting about it sooner. She sent me some adorable vintage fabric! She is so kind and generous! I already have plans for it . . . which is driving me crazy because it is sitting here next to my computer on my desk. I will get to you soon . . . my little fabric pieces! Lol!
Thank you soooooo much Beki! You really made my day!

so, the important thing: where did you find it and how much did you 'find' it for? :)
very cool, though. do you put covers on those?
Congrats on your find!! Can't say I would find the same excitement in an ironing board but then again, I'm not crafty.
My mom is a quilter and she just LOVES cutting out hundreds of little shapes in various colors of fabric. NOT my thing!
I'm glad you're feeling better after your last posts.
LOL Christina! I think that is so true! You have be a strange kind of person to get so excited about an ironing board!! LOL!
Kirsten - I got it at a place called "Flight of Fancy" on Lehi, Main Street. They are only open on Fridays and Saturdays. They sell a ton of antique furniture and linens. I got this for $35. I tried to talk them down but they wouldn't budge! I think that if I hadn't have wanted the thing so bad . . . I might not have thought that it was such a bargin!
Oh, and I am thinking of making a quilted cover for it out of old fabric scraps . . . or just using it as a display table for magazines or folded fabric. I was also thinking that, if I wanted to iron on it, I could even put a different kind of fabric underneath the one that I am ironing for some cushioning.
An ironing board??
Forgive my ignorance, I know it's antique but hmm...haha. I don't know what to make of this excitement but I'm glad you're happy with it! :D
Wow! $100 for that? Hmm...I would too if that's really something I really wanted :)

Cool! I contemplated picking up an pld ironing board like that last time I went thrifting. There were a few, but none were on working order.
