Ughh, I have had the craziest life lately. I have had so many things to write about on my blog but no time until now. I just wanted to fill you in on a little bit of "research" I did . . . if that is what you could call it. :)
So, I signed the petition on Tee's blog ( . . . do you like my little hyperlinking . . . yeah! ) I signed the petition about not buying my mother's day gift at Walmart. No biggy . . . it does make me upset to think that Walmart would discriminate against women. I did find it a bit strange though because I know that Walmart does hold really high standards as far as magazines that they will allow on their racks, etc. I know that they really want to be a family friendly store and are conscientious about how they present themselves. Well, then a couple of days ago I got this email saying that Walmart uses Nazi images to advertise . . . blah blah blah. I was like "What?!"
I removed myself from that email list and took it upon myself to get to the bottom of this. (You would think that I have no life . . . humm . . . ) Anyway, that night, I went to Walmart at 11:30 pm. (Yeah, I really don't have a life!! LOL) I ended up shopping until 1 am. The magazine racks always get me!! Anyway, my checker was a female so I thought that I would approach her with the issue. So I asked her if it was true that Walmart pays their female employees less than their male employees. She looked at me like I was crazy! She said that she happens to know for a fact that she makes more then some of the men that work with her because she has a college degree. She explained to me that Walmart pays on a sliding scale, depending on various qualifications. It differs according to education, training, longevity, etc.
Anywho, I just wanted to let you guys know. I wanted to clear the air about that one. Even though it was good to know that we all support the fight for equal rights.
